| Anyone replace their iPod battery through Apple? |
|
My iPod's battery has worn down severely over the last year or so. I went to the Apple website and found their battery replacement program for $100.
Has anyone tried this program out? I want to find out your experiences before I try it out.

myself with a battery from Other World Computing. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ipod/batteryreplacement/BTW, I have a 1G 5GB iPod that wouldn't hold a charge for more than 30 minutes. Now is better than new!

Also, got a new battery from OWC. It was 39.99. They have a how to video (which I should have looked first!) Pay the 100 bucks if you're really uncomfortable with replacing on your own - but it really isn't that bad at all. The only hard part was starting the process to open the iPod's case - mine was a really snug fit.
My iPod's a 1G 5gig model. Replaced the battery 2 weeks ago. It now runs non-stop for a little over 12 hours with volume set on about 1/3 and shuffle turned on. Before it was like yours, 1/2 hour to an hour and it's dead.
