| Have they resolved the heat problems on the iMac G5s? |
|
I wanted to buy one of these, but I've been reading that the mother boards are getting fried as Apple designed the heat exhaust from the CPU to traverse the mother board. The problem seems to show up months or even only weeks after purchase.
An info on this will be appreciated.

I thought I heard that some of the first version G5 iMacs had some bad capacitors. I believe this has been corrected, but I'm not positive. You might want to check the forums at macfixit.com

| 2. The version A had a psu that would heat and fail. V. B has a new psu. |

My v A imac G5 had a psu that failed. It was replaced with the new psu quickly and effortlessly under warrantee.
Dont hold off because of this. Any new iMac g5 you buy today will have the new psu. Even tho mine did fail, I couldn't be happier with it. This is a beautiful machine, quiet, relatively powerful, and a design winner. My 20" has so much screen real estate I think I'm watching TV. And it takes up so little desk space.
