1. This is one problem I haven't had. I have had a couple
Kernal panics and sudden shutdowns which resolved after a new logic board and 2 new heat syncs.

2. Backlight Invereter. Should be under waranty.
Googled "MacBook Screen Flickering" and found the answer on the http://www.macnn.com forums.
