| Any way to force a program to run in a window instead of fullscreen? |

I'd like to run Brian Eno's "77 Million Paintings" in a window, but that option isn't available. Is there any kind of program I can use to force it to run in a window instead of fullscreen?

If the program uses some sort of open toolkit (such as SDL, GLUT, etc...), you might be able to come up with some ugly hack if the option isn't already present, but otherwise, it's up to the program itself to call the fullscreen function. There's no general hack that I'm aware of.
