| Printers stopped working. |
|
Neither of my Epson Printers are recognized. One is an Epsone Stylus Color 777 the other is the Epson Stylus Photo 820
When I try to print I get the red ! and as I look around I get a warning that AppleTalk won't turn on. It won't let me add printers. It tells me to turn on AppleTalk but there is nothing to turn it on.
They were both working yesterday.
The 820 sucks, but it only cost me 5 dollars.
OSX 10.4.9
There are no warning lights on the 777, but the 820 is out of ink.

give me some printer advice. I've been using an Epson 740i since 1999. It's worked perfect with the early iMacs using both 8.6 and 9.1 and now works perfect with a G4 iBook running 10.4.7. I don't do much printing - - maybe 3-4 times a month I will print a newspaper artcle. Sometimes I will print an AppleWorks invoice if I sell something on eBay.
Somebody gave me an Epson C82. It's been collecting dust for a year because I had several unused 740i ink cartridges I wanted to use up. Is this thing worth fooling with?

Here's a review: http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,105038-page,1/article.htmlLooks like it's not the best printer for text, but seems to be good for images. Be prepared to spend money on ink. If the old one works fine, stay with it.
