| Is there a Mac version of WordPad? |

I'm looking for a shareware text editor for Mac. Is there such a thing?

| 2. TextEdit, which is included with OSX, is pretty good |
|
It can do paragraph styles, open word, html and rtf documents, save as rtf, txt, etc... I use it all the time instead of more bloated word processors.
For voluminous programmer-type text editing, I usually use BBEdit, but it's not shareware.

Lot's of features I've never used. Plenty for the non-professional. http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/*edit: it does require 10.3 for version 2.1.3 and 10.4 for the latest..*

| 4. Tex-Edit is very good. It is shareware, but it is not crippled, and |
|
is not nagware. http://www.tex-edit.com/I've been using it for a long, long time. Yes, I paid for it.
