| I fired up fox 3.0 today . A great browser, and more. |

I have always loved the speed and clean approach that safari offers. Still, I find meself scratching me head, trying to see which download I need to view certain sites or video that safari did not support native. I have to say, Firefox is just kick ass. I've tried everything to warp its brain, but so far no memory bleed, no problems, no crashes, no nothing but fast surfing.

| 1. I've never really done much with Firefox before |
|
Sure, I used it, but didn't do much more than scratch the surface. Having downloaded 3 yesterday, I set about customisng it, and I'm impressed so far. The extensibility of Firefox is its major asset, IMO. So far, I have:
Adblock Plus, nuff said.
Download Statusbar, which moves downloads to the statusbar, eliminating that annoying window.
Firebug, web development tools.
Fission, which provides a Safari-like loading indicator in the address bar.
Flashblock, for making Flash annoyances optional.
Foxmarks, so that I can keep bookmarks in sync among the various machines I use.
Hyperwords, for inline language translation, quick wikipedia lookups etc.
Quartz PDF plugin, for viewing PDFs inline.
GrApple Yummy, a theme which makes Firefox look more at home on the Mac.
All installable with little more than a point and click. Once I've imported my bookmarks from Camino, it'll probably become my fulltime browser.

| 3. Do you know anything about this? |
|
I downloaded FF3 and it's on my desktop on my main administrative account (which I use only for downloads, maintenance , etc.), which has the most permissions or privileges. When I install FF3, where it says do I want to replace the older one and I say yes, a message comes up saying it can't be done because I don't have sufficient privileges. I've never had this happen before downloading any other software or with downloading previous Firefox versions.
Anyone know what I should do? Thanks.

I ended up trashing the older version and installing the new one fresh. All okay now.
