I could use some help on iphoto. How can I convert a gif file to jpg?

I used to be able to do it on Windows.

1. Do it with Preview.

Open the gif in Preview, "Save As...", then use the drop-down menu to choose jpg and save. No need for the all the weight of iPhoto.
