Killing NetAuthAgent doesn't help me but that's perhaps unsurprising since the thread is from 2008

I'll look more at the VNC issue

3. I must have blinked when I posted that first thread.

Coulda sworn it was a more current thread about Lion.

Try digging around the Macrumors and Apple forums. I frequently find answers in one of the two places.
