Hubby loves "chocolate chip cookies' without the chocolate chips :rofl:
my last try came out flat flat flat, tasty, but flat
so I wanted to try tweaking it and these came out great
Ingredients:
* 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour * 1 teaspoon baking soda * 1 teaspoon salt * 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened * 1/2 cup shortening * 3/4 cup granulated sugar * 3/4 cup packed brown sugar * 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract * 2 large eggs * 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
Directions: PREHEAT oven to 375° F.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in pudding mix, then flour mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 11 to 13 minutes or until edges turn golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

I make them for him as I LoVE chocolate
but these are pretty tasty......

6 tablespoons butter 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt
1. Combine melted butter and brown sugar; stirring until dissolved. Beat in eggs and vanilla. 2. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the butter mixture. Spread the batter evenly in a well-buttered 9-inch square pan. 3. Bake at 350*F. for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool before cutting.
Makes 16 squares.
