Reason I'm asking is because I'd like to send.. ...something... I dunno what yet.. to a couple of family members.

I live in Anchorage, and unfortunately a lot of places won't ship to Alaska or Hawaii if it's a food item.. But I can definitely send it from the location to anywhere in the lower-48 states.

There used to be a show on the Food Network that traveled the nation going to restaurants, country stores, various businesses, etc.. and at the end of the show they'd list the contact info for each place they visited.

Evidently that show was cancelled.. bummer.

They have a show called "Road Tasted" on there.. but they don't many sites listed.

6. They are the absolute best for cheese

I order from them several times a year and when they have their shipping specials no one can beat them for variety and prices on cheeses you can't get locally. Their customer service is top knotch and they bent over backwards for me when a Burata I ordered arrived spoiled. They have great sales too, Even if you don't need cheese now they are a good company to keep in your favorites list for the future. Get on their mailing list. You'll get notified of specials when they are available and they don't flood you with garbage mail. I LOVE them.

they have many wonderful gift boxes. it is the highlight of my christmas baking to go there to buy whatever i might need. vanilla beans is the #1 thing that takes me there. they have huge, fat, tender beans, and a vanilla bean paste that is to die for. just stopping in for the smells is great. it is an old fashioned place, with simple typewritten labels on plain jars. but the best, best spices from all over the world.

They have just about everything you can think of. They are located in an old department store building in Chapel Hill and do absolutely wonderful gift baskets and goodies from all over. I LOVE shopping there when I want to pamper myself. :-)
