practically clawed my face off tonight. Bled for two hours...
I swear I don't know why he's still alive.
Someone call the SPCA tomorrow and have them come and see if he survived the night.

I'm a sarcastic asshole.
On the bright side, after my surgery for colon cancer, I should be less of an asshole.
Time will tell.

Sarcastic assholeyness and colons aren't really connected. I've had colon bits removed twice and it didn't help at all. :)

Maybe he needs his nails trimmed?
Or some time with a trainer?
He wouldn't have a home with us if he did that to anyone.

| 7. I used to train dogs, and breed them |
|
and we've had show quality dogs, and I've had dozens of dogs.
This one is singularly more trouble than any collection of others, even beating out the Border Collie / Schizophrenic mix.
He's a smart dog, and actually very trainable, and I have had more instant results with him than any other. Regardless...
In this case he was just trying to climb into my lap and paw me. But, dammit, he caught a nasty angle and gave me a good wipe.
He is a generally sweet dog. Sort of a nice teenager.

and I'm blood thinners, and have a compromised immune system to boot.
Didn't mean to be different than my OP (not sure that I was) but anyway...
Are you coming to get me, Lucinda? I'm waiting for you...

I didn't realize you were on blood thinners, too. Sorry you had such a hard time tonight. Really I am. You've been having such a hard run of luck with stuff lately.
We just got back in the house. I went out for a minute and some of the black chickens were out of bed in the garden which just doesn't happen after dusk and especially not after dark. Then I heard a big commotion in their hen house, the buffs were still in there throwing a fit. Bill plugged in the brooder lamp and I went around and found a good sized possum in there. Bill got the hoe and went in there and scooted it out. It climbed up the fence and back down in the garden and squeezed it's big butt through a large enough opening. We had to catch all the black chickens and put them back in the hen house, shut and locked the door. We usually leave it open so they can come out in the morning when they want to. We're going to leave the brooder lamp on in there for at least tonight so it will be less likely to come back. I'm glad we were able to get it out without killing it but I hate the thought of closing the door every night.
I'm heading for the bed. Animals!

Suck on this...
Muskrat, muskrat candlelight Doin' the town and doin' it right In the evenin' It's pretty pleasin'
Muskrat Susie, Muskrat Sam Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land And they shimmy And Sammy's so skinny
And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed Singin' and jingin' the jango Floatin' like the heavens above It looks like muskrat love
Nibbling on bacon, chewin' on cheese Sammy says to Susie "Honey, would you please be my missus?" And she say yes With her kisses
And now he's ticklin' her fancy Rubbin' her toes Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes As they wriggle, and Sue starts to giggle
And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed Singin' and jingin' the jango Floatin' like the heavens above It looks like muskrat love
La da da da da ...
Then you can come and get me...
