| Raspberry chocolate icing... |
|
Friday night I baked a chocolate cake, and, as always when I bake a cake, I was up in the air what to ice it with. First thought was to just melt some chocolate and drizzle it over the thing.
As I was melting the chocolate, just a bag of semi-sweet chips, I went through the shelves and found some Baker's squares.
Into the pot they went.
Found some cocoa powder. Into the pot.
Found some raspberry jam. Into the pot.
Found some cream in the fridge. Into the pot.
Had a pot of coffee made-- you know where some of that went.
I hadn't bothered to measure anything, but suddenly realized I had the makings of raspberry truffles. No matter, when it was all properly gooey, just poured it over the cake (baked in a Bundt pan, btw, so the excess piled up in the middle, where you could dig it out with a spoon.) and sprinkled more cocoa powder over the whole mess.
Wasn't much of it left that night.
