| Wanted to share some sourdough starter awesomeness |
|
I got the hand me down starter I've been vying for.
It has a note attached.
This sourdough is originally from Alaska and was 86 years old when XX gave it to me in 1971, when we were neighbors in Plattsburg, NY. Just before we moved to Germany in 1983, I gave my starter away in New Hampshire. Thanks to the joy of email, X and I rekindled our friendship from Texas to Virginia and she mailed her starter to me in 1998.
Soooo.. that is just the kind of note I'd hoped to get if I ever got some "real" starter.
Me happy. Food with history ;)
:woohoo:
