Making Portuguese Courico and Peppers today. Crockpot bliss.
The man asked for it - fond childhood memories of this dish. So I will try it, though my most horrible food memories as a child were my own mom's Italian Sausage and Peppers.

But the sausage is completely different, and the 10 hours of crockpotting will address any fat/gristle issues. And I am a far better cook than my mother was, lol.

1. Sorry about your horrible food memories.
My daughters love my Italian Sausage and Peppers. Just sorry girls and I are separated by geography. I do love it when they call for a recipe, tho.

3. Gentleman friend finally came over and we had this dish sloppy-joe-style over
some lovely rolls from the French bakery nearby. It froze and reheated just fine. Side dish was zucchini sauteed with onions and garlic (the onion starting to caramelize) and topped with fresh grated parmesan.

Fresh brewed iced tea and homemade lemonade to drink.

We, ahem, had each other for "dessert", lol. He is so happy to have somebody cook homemade for him - he tends to do a lot of Stouffer's and fast food (old bachelor). We'll work on that.
