| Problem with MXTASK.exe File |
|
I have a relatively new PC with Windows XP. When I boot up recently, I often get an error report citing this file as a problem. The PC seems to work normally, but has trouble with heavy I/O (large downloads, lots of windows open).
Does anyone know what this does and how not having it affects the PC? Can I get it from the Microsoft site? Unfortunately, I destroyed my CD writer and thus do not have a backup set of disks.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'll be glad to uninstall if that's what's causing a problem.
Thanks -- that takes a load off my mind.

| 3. That program is alright to use on older OS's, but xp it will cause probs |
|
I would save it for like a win 98 or ME box that you may have problems with. Most of those utilities that are in that program are already there in windows, you just have to know where they are at and how to use them effectively. Not to mention freeware programs you can get that can to the same thing and then some even better.

now that I've done my duty as a present recipient.
I have noticed some duplication. Would not have bought it with my own money.
