Need help recovering my memory

Back in January, I had a benign mass removed that was pressing on my brain, and while I'm recovering nicely, it has messed with my memory somewhat.

Here is an issue with my computer that I used to know how to handle, but now I don't:

I'm having an issue with slow-loading pages. And videos? They take forever-and-a-day to load. Then while running Malwarebytes to search for goomies, a warning popped up from Comodo that a nasty was found.

When Malwarebytes was finished, I had two files recognized as goomies (the first one was also found by Comodo):

C:\SwSetup\AOLIMS\setup.exe
C:\HPQWare\EasySetup\SetACL.exe

I know that it is possible for antivirus programs to detect false positives. I tried Googling the programs, but didn't come up with much help (and for some reason, not much in English).

So do I have to go to either the Malwarebytes or Comodo forums?

1. Just a guess

but I betcha AOLIMS is an AOL instant messenger service of some kind.

A quick google of HPQ ware shows a lot of people are asking about it and no one is giving answers! It could be one of HP's bloody nuisance programs.

2. So no harm would be done

by quarantining them, right? Then if everything is running okay after a few weeks, I can delete them?

I definitely do not have any use for AOL instant messaging. Or AOL anything, really.

3. Kind of switching gears here

I just downloaded the latest version of Revo Uninstaller. Wouldn't unloading these seemingly unnecessary programs help speed things up?

The Sims Life Stories (2,720.35 MB)- I'm a middle-aged lady who doesn't play Sims
Microsoft Works (396.73 MB) - I use Open Office
Power Director (459.89 MB)- seems to be film editing software

4. Probably not

If they are just sitting there and not running continuously. But....if you have very little space on your hard drive, freeing some up could be useful.

Have you done the standard things like cleaning temp files, caches etc. and gone to MSCONFIG to see if there is superflous stuff running in the background?

5. MSCONFIG? That's a new one on me.

I don't know how to tell what is superfluous and what isn't. There is so much I haven't heard of!
