Can't stay logged into sites using Firefox.

Windows XP Pro. Problem just recently started. I used to use IE, but switched to Firefox awhile back.

I ran all the anti-virus programs I have. And also reset windows to an earlier date. I looked at my cookies and that says to keep sites I go to.

Any thoughts would be appreciated what else I could check and thanks :-)

Thanks for the link! (I didn't see that when I searched the site.) I went through several threads and tried all the fixes. Oops - it's a Firefox bug from the latest update. Newest update to fix it isn't out yet. Thanks again - I thought it was something I did. I guess I'll just wait for the fix.

I'd say you're better off upgrading to 3.0.10, if that's what you're holding off on. It's a stability update, specifically released to address a couple of crash issues. If you've had problems with Firefox occasionally taking a dive, as I did, the newer version should be better.

The OP's troubles are likely an SQLite implementation problem, not something peculiar to a Firefox release. Firefox has been using SQLite in all of its 3.xx versions, so staying with an older version probably won't afford you protection.

And no, I'm not. I'm not having crashes though, which was a dismaying interlude, the browser had been dependably stable for a long time.

The login issue, as far as I can tell, isn't particularly widespread, and doesn't seem to be something that's tied to the newer release. It does look like an instance of database corruption, while uncommon, isn't unusual.

If your browser is currently stable and you aren't experiencing crashes like I did, then certainly you don't have any terribly compelling reasons to upgrade. The update is largely a stability improvement. However, you should be aware that one of the types of crashes they fixed was due to memory corruption, which is something that has potential for exploitation.

I'm not trying to egg you into upgrading NOW. Upgrading for its own sake is, as you know, not wise. I just wanted to note that I didn't think the login issue should be a reason not to. Just some thoughts for you to consider :hi:

9. I like to stay current

because the updates usually are related to security. But I procrastinate. I did have a crash last night with a video heavy site and just now with a .pdf document (I reverted to adobe).
