Picasa & privacy issues?

I was looking at Picasa, thinking to use it.
Noticed the 'sign up" list includes option for Google's " Web History" where they store YOUR
browsing history on THEIR server.
It's optional, but ...uggghhh.
So it got me wondering what other snoopy things they might be doing if I use Picasa.
( Windows XP/Firefox/Thunderbird)

Anyone ?????????

And noticed they have Picasa 3 now...
again, any issues I should be thinkig about???

1. I can't use it

without opening a second google account because they name the file with your email address and mine is my real name. I didn't see any way to change that.

I allow google to store my web history. It has come in handy at times. IIRC, you have the option to delete certain items.
I don't store history on my machine.

2. Can't you/me use Yahoo or whatever e-mail address?

I have 3 online e-mail boxes. Are you saying that will not work?

It's been awhile since I looked at it. I use Gmail.
