The door to my CD-Rom/D:Drive won't open.
I press the button, I hear inner whirring noises for less than 10 seconds and nothing. It's empty/no discs stuck inside.
Time to repair, time to replace the computer, or can you tell me how to fix it.
I want to add some programs and can't w/o having this resolved.
Thank you!

less than half the size of a match-head somewhere on the front of the drive. If it has one, straighten a paper clip and jab in into the hole. This may free the drive door.
You didn't say if it was a laptop. The whirring sound may be the drive door trying to open, but the disc inside has moved and is preventing it. Try moving and tilting the computer around to re-seat the CD in the right position.
On edit: My bad, I neglected the bit about no CD in drive. Hope there is a hole!

Every CD/DVD drive I've seen has either the hole or at least a tiny notch somewhere on it's face for physical access to the opening mechanism.
Is it in a laptop or a desktop?

and they all have either the hole or a notch, something small enough to fit a sm. paperclip into to push the mechanism.
Lots of these are really old too, from that same period.
What is the brand/model of the drive?

I saw that you have an oldish desktop. As BlueJazz says, drives are cheap as chips and you'll get all the help you need here.
