| Opera . think I've found my browser |
|
After the reformat a couple of weeks ago due to a snafu that came about due to trying to correct a botched Firefox upgrade, I've been trying all of them. The fonts on Firefox are just too hard to read, no matter what I try. Safari has the best font settings by far. But it doesn't have the standard right click options, which I use endlessly. When my monitor was out for a week, I never could have functioned to the extent I did without right click menus. IE8, well you know. It's pretty good. Just as possessive as all of MS products. Still don't understand why it creates five times the amount of temp files as any other browser. At least it doesn't seem to make entries to the registry like the older versions do. Chrome? omg, no. I thought surely it would incorporate the Google toolbar. The features are stripped to bare bones. No wonder it's rated as "fastest". Even after I un-installed it, I had to disable the bandwidth grabber, Google updater!
I used Opera for many years before IE7, with the advent of IE tabs. Six or seven. It has more features for customization by far. I can't find a color scheme I'm thrilled with. Can get used to that though. And wish the address bar would go on top of the tab bar. I'm going to upgrade to the Beta 10 so I can have the handy in-line spell check. :hi: Maybe this is It.
