WTF. Kapersky doesn't see it. It seems to be a codec that hides Internet Explorer and god knows what else.

What's the best program for removing this POS?

1. Try Malwarebytes Antimalware

or Spybot S&D. It's a malware trojan. It's not a virus per se so an antivirus won't see it.
and quit using Internet Exploder-there are better browsers out there.
