HTML Help needed

i am learning HTML code on my own, but for whatever reason can't get certain things to work here.

like bold, italics, and color of font. it always turns out like this:

<b>test</b>
<i>test</i>

what am i doing wrong?

it took me forever to get the marquee on my sig line to work but i feel like i'm running into a road block here. i've gone through dozens of online tutorials and guides, quick sheets, etc.

any suggestions?

1. Here on DU use square brackets instead of < >

Just like you see in "Message Options" when you post.

4. Have you noticed this when you try to reply?

Click "HTML Lookup Table". It even has a few templates you can use. There are others that will
work that aren't shown but trial and error will help you with that once you get started.
