I can NOT view a You Tube video without its' pausing many times..

with the little circle spinning. Tried IE8 and the latest Firefox. Can't view a video all the way through on either with out pausing many times.

Anyone who can help on this?

1. have you tried...

rebooting your router, modem and PC - and trying it again?

When my D-Link wireless router is not rebooted for a month or so; I notice it gets slow.
You may want to scan for viruses and malware as well.

2. A few things to try ...

Download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

If all else fails, you can always pause the video, let it fully download (red bar loads completely) and then play it.


ChromeFoundry's suggestion is a good one. Sometimes my internet connection gets "clogged up" and the only thing that helps is rebooting everything.

3. Latest version of everything via Secunia PSI...use ccleaner daily.

5. Sorry it didn't help.

Sometimes the simple solutions work, sometimes they don't. :-(

I just took a quick look at the Adobe forums to see if others were having problems with YouTube ... and they are. Everyone seems to agree that the latest version of Flash is the problem (10.0.32.18). Not everyone is having problems with version 10 (I'm not), but a lot of people are and many of them (not all) solved the problem by uninstalling Flash 10 and reinstalling Flash 9.

The only things I had trouble updating were Real player and Adobe Flash. I clicked through to the forum and they had the answer within hours.

4. I'm getting that a lot too.

Some of the videos won't even play at DU, and I have to go to youtube to view.

The progress bar won't finish loading. It just stops right there and spins.
I note where the time stamp is and refresh the page. Then slide it to the correct time.
That usually works and it loads normally.

6. I found a GREAT downloader and converter

Download the videos, then convert them to Quicktime or Windows media files for instant viewing. Works GREAT.
