BBC is dumping RealPlayer

At long last. It only took them 13 years to decide RealPlayer was full of poop. Pity they didn't ask me or any of a billion other people what the RP experience was like years ago, and help hasten the death of that piece of lumpware.

I use mplayer on Linux, and it'll play just about any media file. Some Windows Media streams sometimes won't play for me, but only because I'm too lazy to hunt down some the needed codec.

2. There is occasional You Tube content you can snag with Real

and that's about all I use it for.

Winamp has better stations.
