Is special software needed?

1. Do you use Photobucket?


They have an editing feature that will reduce your pic size.

IrfanView (freeware) will do the same.

3. If you want something very simple
Try Primitive Photo Resizer http://www.primitivezone.com/primitive-photo-resizer.html (freeware of course).

This program is as simple opening a picture, dragging the window to the size you want and then saving. It handles jpeg, gif and bmp formats.

Click on Image > Resize/Resample
(Don't forget the plug-ins)

It is my default picture manipulation program. It will do most of whatever you want to do to your pictures.

10. Irfanview is excellent
Lightweight, gets the job done. It also has a batch resizing feature too which can be very useful.
