WiFi - How do I
I have my wireless disabled. Problem I'm having is getting the Radio turned off.

I have Vista on a Dell. When I check the WiFi I have a message that the radio is on but can be turned off - but I don't know where. I checked everything in Device Manager, but I'm basically illiterate on computer language.

Can someone tell me how to do this or at least tell me where I need to look?

Dell support has been tried. I don't feel like going through 3000 possible answers.
The Owners Manual points right back to the wireless instructions.

2. Nope
I don't have a switch or a button on my laptop. I wish this were as easy as that posters problem to fix. Thanks though.

8. Also
you say when you check the wifi you "have a message". What is generating this message (OS?) and what is the actual wording?

what you are talking about.

12. yeah
but disabling the wifi still leaves the radio ON. I disconnected the wireless so I guess I fixed the radio problem with that.

Thanks for the help! :)

4. Install CCleaner, and in the CCleaner options menu
disable the radio command line for the start up program, don't delete it just disable it.

6. Why install that?
I've already disabled. I want the Radio OFF.

Clearly I said so in the OP.

btw, I already have such a program installed. It comes with the computer.
