In Win XP, I don't get why the Restore Wizard can see the files

backed to the external hard drive but it can't see the files backed up on the C drive by the BackUp Wizard. Don't these wizard guys talks to each other?! :dunce:

1. Wait a minute. Is this a gay question? Oh, no, you're the lady in

Well, let me make a wild stab at this. No I don't think they do. They are partitioned. But you can solve that problem if you create a path.
The only problem is I have long since forgotten how to create a path, and that continues to cause me problems.
Anyone else?

3. Except that genius, Backup Wizard, didn't put the backup file in D.

It's in C. And it looks like Restore Wizard only restores files from other drives in XP.

So, while I had luckily just backed up the C drive to an external, what the heck use is this backup file that Windows made and put on the C drive if it can't be restored? It could be mined for documents but geeze, it's a good thing I don't need to try to retrieve Office from it or system settings.

Maybe there is a way to restore this backup file using the Win utility to restore backup files but I don't think the utility knows what it is. lol

4. Uh, you may have lost me here. I think you can tell the Wizard

where to do his back up. But, I think you want to do your back up only on another drive.
You can change drives. Or include your drive change in your path.
But back up by definition is only, is it not for data, and not apps? That's the whole problem with moving apps. You can't just copy them, you have to redo, reload and install them. As in the original installation disc, or a download.
Or am I missing something.
