and while it is not the miracle worker that some believe it to be, it's a good, solid program.
Be aware that if you let it clean unrestrained, you may lose your bookmarks, recent documents etc as well as cookies for auto logins to websites, so make sure you know exactly what it is cleaning.
The 'Issues' tab is really just a registry cleaner. It will not clean your machine of malware, trojans or viruses. That being said, it is not bad, although I run it sequentially with Reg Scrub and Reg Seeker and they all seem to find things that the others donot.

I checked out the program, read some, put it on an older computer to see how it actually worked. I do like to be able to pick and choose and wanted to make sure this one allowed for that rather than just run amok ;) The interface seemed easy enough and so far, old machine seems not to have lost anything I didn't want to loose.
Thanks for other program names. I agree with you about one thing catching what another missed, but I am very slow to put on redundant programs cuz I don't understand enough about them to guess where conflicts might cause problems. I love that people here are forthcoming with their experiences and help.

A solid, useful program, not great, but not bad. I've used it for 2 yrs or so, the main reason being it's ability to easily select which cookies you keep and which you delete. The uninstall feature in the tools section came in handy for me once when I had a rogue program disable access to my control panel and CCleaner allowed me to uninstall it safely. The system restore feature also came in handy in that same instance for the same reason. One other feature I like is it's startup tab, it allows you easily stop unnecessary startup items that may hog system resources and increase boot time.
It's not a resource hog like some other similar apps I've tried, it runs quickly and efficiently. I like it and best of all....
it's FREE.

| 5. I run it every time i close my browser. The best feature for me is the tools. Makes it so |
|
easy to turn off any startup item with disable and to re enable if needed.
One caution: in the registry I un check the "unused file extensions" because it is a big pane adding back extensions.
I give it a 8 out of 10.

We go back to being 2 computer family next week (thank goodness) and I won't have to deal with his pack-rat ways!
Machine running better. Got the registry cleaner recommended on and FINALLY got rid of stuff that just wouldn't budge before but caused some annoyances.
You geeks so ROCK!
