silverlight installation problems

has anyone here had trouble installing silverlight? I tried to install it so i could watch bbc series instantly on netflix but whenever i try to play something i am sent to install silverlight. All the instructions are carefully followed but to no avail. Miscrosoft is of no help - they 35.00 just to talk to me! (f... em!) Ive been to the microsoft site but no real help there. Any help will be much appreciated.

1. Did you attempt (and failed) to install using Windows Updates?

Try downloading the installer directly and installing it manually. Worked for a friend w/similar issues as yours. Link:

2. hate this program

i tried everything. I even went into regedit and wiped out everything referring to silverlight then i ran a couple of registry cleaners with no sign of silverlight but it still doesnt install though it claims it has! help!!!

3. there is hope

if you go to ms home page you will find a number to call for help and it is free. My problem was that i had too many registry cleaners and other such software which changed the permissions in the registry so silverlight couldnt work. The tech took over my puter and fixed it in no time. they were very good about it. 4. a solution for you

i assume you are installing silverlight so you can watch movies instantly from netflix. Call them and though they cant help with the installation they can give you the number in microsoft to call.
