How to create a "smilie"?

For my first foray into this group, I'd like to ask your help!!

I have a mac, Snowleopard OS ... and I'm pretty *<---cross out* VERY computer illiterate....

but I'd LOVE to create a little smilie thingy or a gif (I have a specific idea..actually an animated word) that would be great to use here....

I just need help geared down to basic dumbass level!

Is there some website that has a template to follow, or what?


(while I'm at it, how do you do a word cross-out?)

2. There are a few steps involved Blanche

First you need to make a little graphic of each step of the animation - sort of like the cels in a cartoon or frames in a film. Then you assemble them in an animated gif. There are lots of good free programs to do this.

Or you could PM me. I'm grounded today as the car is getting brakes done, so if it's quick and easy I may be able to put it together for you.

I love toads.

Used to be, you could get pet cane toads, and I had asked the local reptile shop if they could find one for me...but I was too late, they were banned. I planned to name him (or her) Captain Underpants.
