Mine. Not "cutting edge" by any means. I have OC'ed it but have returned to stock CPU speed as that suits me fine and no heat worries. The videocard is OC'ed a little bit. It handles most games and processing just fine for me now.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield @ 2.4Ghz GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L Zalman 9700 CPU cooler 4 GB G.SKILL PC2 6400 Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA 2 x Seagate Barracuda 80GB SATA XFX HD-4870A-ZHDC XXX 1G 16x Plextor DVD Burner COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 case Antec True Power Trio TP3-550w PSU Windows XP Pro
I built this in 2008 with a recent videocard upgrade. I like building a new system every 3 years or so with room to upgrade my videocard in the meantime as prices drop.

| 3. Since uninstalling Norton fried my XP machine |
|
I'm on an HP laptop, 6 GB RAM, 2 1.6 Gig processors. This thing has more guts than I've ever been able to afford on any machine until now and it's so fast it seems to be anticipating my every move. As long as it hangs together, I won't need a replacement desktop.
Since my house has been robbed so many times, it's also coming with me when I leave the house, even though it's LoJacked.
Now if I could only get my favorite XP programs to run on Win7, I'd be a happy camper. I did manage to transfer everything I could before Norton fried the XP box. The good news is that the basic drivers for printers and other peripherals work well enough for me to do my taxes when the 1099s come in.

Great card. I upgraded to the XFX 4870 and love it more. http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/graphiccards/HD%204000series/4870.aspxMy monitor has a 1680x1050 max resolution or I would have opted for the 4890. ---

4GB PC2 6400 DDR2 RAM
NVIDIA GEFORCE 9600gso w/384MB DDR3 ram..
2X Seagate Barracuda 200GB 8MB SATA HD
1X Seagate Barracuda 250GB PATA HD
LG Lightscibe DVD 16X DVD burner.
21" Radius Multivision CRT
Altec Lansing Sub/Satellite system with Dolby Pro Logic (old but better sounding than a lot of newer systems to my ears)
Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro Joystick
WinXP pro/Knoppix Linux dual boot.
It runs pretty well for what I do, the only thing I do that really stresses it is Flightsim X with the accelerator pack and after considerable tweaking I can get about 40 FPS at 1280x1024 res..
