| Anyone using Cox's "media store and share"? Anything I should know? |
It seems like a good idea for another backup of photos and maybe (some) music, since it's free - but I'm always suspicious before adding something new and thought I'd see if anyone had any info on it.

| 1. I don't trust any online storage |
Flash drives and even external hard drives are cheap.

| 2. Just be careful what you store on it because they (Cox) can see it |
If they think you're storing illegal version of music, movies, or other copyrighted content, they can close off your access to it. Read the fine-print carefully, especially since there is now automated software that can detect ripped versions of DRM protected media.
Otherwise, these online storage systems are awesome - they take care of a lot of headaches if you need to store a lot of critical files outside your home or office.

| 3. There is a legal question of ownership when you store files on someones server. |
Remember the old saying, possession is 9 tenths of the law. What happens when Cox is sold or bought out by another entity?
