| Why does Firefox take so long to load? |
|
I use Chrome, IE, and Firefox, and FF takes like 10 seconds or more to startup sometimes. Not to mention further delays if it decides to give notifications about plugins and self updates. Is this only happening to me? I'm surprised because FF is so popular and I haven't seen anyone else complain about this. IE and Chrome pop right up.

| 1. I find it loads quickly |

But I have auto updates turned off. Maybe that's your problem.
There could be other factors too; your profile is corrupted, drive is fragmented, computer generally sluggish. Hard to say without knowing the full story.

Confident that will solve the problem. Thanks. Auto updates are so annoying...

| 3. Do you maybe have an add-on that's broken? |
|
I've used add-on tools in the past that have worked well under one version of FF and poorly (or not at all) under a newer version. If you do, try disabling 1 at a time and restarting Firefox to see if that helps.

| 4. I will certainly check into that.. |

It's entirely possible I installed a fringe malfunctioning and/or resource hogging addon, so I'll look into it.
