I need help. Excel 2007 Piviot tables. Can they be formatted?

I need help. Excel 2007 Piviot tables. Can they be formatted?
I have my fields placed on the table, but for instance, instead of the column heading being Gender, it says Column, and the same goes for my Department heading, instead of department it says Row. Do I manually make the formatting changes? Any help would be appreciated- this is for my advanced computer application class.

1. IIRC, you should be able to just select the block containing the word
'Column' and type what you need.
