| Anyone here beta testing MS Office 2010? |
|
If yes, please post your impressions.
I bit the bullet fairly recently and finally upgraded from 2003 to MS Office 2007 ULTIMATE. I'm still learning to use this versions editions of much of the inclusions beyond Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook-- am loving onenote, publisher and some of the increased functionality of Access. Haven't yet figured out Groove or infopath, nor tried the included accounting package since I use Quicken.
At any rate, I would be curious as to the opinions on 2010 and whether DUers are intending to upgrade. I have a fairly cheap path to upgrade, since I purchased 2007 fairly recently.... Thoughts?

| 1. How recently did you upgrade to 2007? |

As a tester of office 2010 I have been getting email stating that if you buy 2007 now you can upgrade to 2010 for free.
I like the improved ribbon features in 2010 but my opinion is that it is nowhere near as big an upgrade as it was to move from Office 2003 to 2007. I am up in the air about whether to upgrade and think I will probably wait until the next version because though the new bells and whistles are nice I have very little practical need for them.

I tried to upgrade 8 months ago but got taken by an online retailer's resell of counterfeit software. So, after I burned through that $$ and went through the process of filing complaints to paypal and investigative reports with MS and USPS, it took a while to save back up again.
So, in reality, I purchased and installed the real deal just a week ago (though I was able to play with the bogus version for a few weeks prior to sending it to the MS investigation group) and would thus qualify for the 2010 upgrade. If you buy 2007 suites and activate by end of September, you can download some type of 2010 product for free--depending on which suite you own. You can get a DVD for a "fee" (not sure how much that will be, rather than download online, which would be my choice, given my slower internet connection. I am not sure if you HAVE to install it immediately... I would love to buy the disk if it is fairly cheap and hang onto it, until I hear how buggy it might be...
