| so my laptop speakers just quit working |
|
I wasn't doing anything at all, the laptop (a 9 month old Toshiba) was sitting 5 feet away from me. I was just letting it play music and recharge my iPod, and the music stopped. I couldn't get any system sounds, either.
So I checked the sound driver, and it needed an update. Still no sound. I finally decide to plug in my headphones, and there's sound that way.
The computer has been restarted several times. In the past, I had a problem with one of the speakers going quiet that I could fix by adjust the volume up and down, but that hasn't happened in a while.
It doesn't seem very hot, either. Any help would be appreciated.

| 2. The problem could be in the headset jack. |
|
Try plugging the headset plug in and out a several times. There's a set of transfer contacts inside that switches the audio from one direction to the other. The connection might be a little bit wonky.
 :hi:
