Another router issue . . . Linksys WRT54G

In early August, I configured my Linksys WRT54G router using my laptop (which runs Vista). Now I'd like to add my desktop PC (which runs XP), and I cannot remember how to do it! I thought I had found the page in the Cisco knowledge base and bookmarked it, but damn if I can find it now. :grr:

I'm searching for "add a device." Is this not the correct term? The Googles aren't helping me, either.

I feel stupid for not remembering this, but I have had a long day . . . :boring: Thank you!!

but I didn't make myself clear.

I am able to access the internet with the laptop, but not the desktop. If I want to access the internet with the desktop, do I simply go through these steps again?

4. Ace! When you wake up, a coupla details....

Your internet connection - Cable? ASDL? (dialup lolol?)
Wired or wireless adapter on your XP machine?

5. its been a while since I was in my router but I have the same one

As long as the XP box is set to pick up a DHCP address it should work without an issue. If you are trying to network the two together that is another matter. Check in the router settings, I think it has a box that lets you choose how many IP's or connections it will hand out. Make sure it is set for more than 1. I had a friend with this issue, we went crazy for an hour till we noticed it was only handing out one ip at a time.
