| .NET FRamework. Don't have it, don't want it. but:: |
|
I have had this computer for years and do not have .Net framework at all. Not even the Net Framework 1.0.
I keep getting update notices from Microsoft to do all the updates for .NET. I was able to hide the first couple but I have about 4 more that the system will not allow me to hide. How do I get rid of this nuisance, anyone know? Since I have installed Firefox, I have had no problems with this machine and would like to leave things as they are. I don't really understand what .Net Framework would do for me because I don't do anything out of the ordinary with this machine.
.Net does not show up on the Add/Remove or on Revo. Why are they pestering me for something I would rather not bother with.
How do I get rid of it if I can't even hide it anymore. That option seemed to disappear.
Thanks, PR

| 1. Turn off Automatic Updates |
|
If your computer is running OK, it's the easiest way to get rid of this nuisance.
Right click My Computer. Select Properties. Click on the Automatic Updates tab and do the business.
Keep an eye on this group and GD for news about crucial security holes, which are pretty few and far between. You can always go to the Microsoft site and grab a particular update if you need it.
