So I was cleaning the DVD-RW on my laptop...

because I've done it in the past when I've had problems with it not reading discs. This time, though, the lens (I guess that's what it is) came off. I tried to put it back, but it's been to no avail. Is it worth trying to put it back together again? Am I going to need to take this to a professional? Or should I just get an external DVD-RW and forget any effort to rescue this thing?
