then go into the Firefox menu under "View", then "Toolbars", and make sure "Bookmarks Toolbar" is checked.
This should redisplay your bookmarks toolbar.
If all your bookmarks got toasted, that's a more complicated problem.

you can restore it by right-clicking where the menu would appear, and making sure "Menu Bar" is checked.
Is Firefox otherwise working (i.e., can you get to a website by typing in the address)?
