Had a computer specialist come and set things up. Regular computer(PC) is working just fine except the e-mail program seems out of whack. I cannot seem to send a link to anyone. I have yet to do any practice on my new HP 620. It is windows 7. My current is an HP with XP SP3. What should I expect for problems, anyone know? I hired a tech to set up the wireless network. To tell the truth, I'm scared to death of this new arrangement. He did tell me that sometimes XP and Windows 7 have trouble communicating with each other. Thursday is my big day of reckoning. I've got to sit down and figure this out. Wish the new laptop was not W/7. Router is Netgear. Bought new cordless mouse, this square in the keyboard is not for me.
Anyone have any ideas about what problems I may encounter?

Don't sweat what hasn't happened yet and if you need help just ask. I find that anything I can't figure out I can google and someone will have had the issue before.

XP and my laptop Windows 7. I have a Belkin router that I set up and the two communicate just fine. It takes longer for the laptop to recognize the desktop than it does the desktop to recognize the laptop but not a lot longer. I can access files on one computer just fine with the other computer. I'm able to access my external hard drive and printer fine with both as well.
Why are you anticipating problems? Just because of what the tech said? I won't worry too much. If the tech set up the router properly you shouldn't have any problems.

I see no big changes, except that you can pin stuff to taskbar (bottom of the screen)...just rightclick on any application or file and select 'pin to taskbar'. Keeps the desktop from getting cluttered and anchors those apps to the bottom of you screen. The wireless set-up in Win7 is a lot better than XP, IMHO.
If you have any specific issues, questions, or concerns with Win 7, please post them here...there are lots of smart people who can provide you with help/suggestions as you start the changeover.
