| best place to buy a laptop battery? |
|
My laptop battery is no longer holding a charge for very long. Using a basic Google search, I've come up with prices ranging from about $90 to as low as $26 (amazon.com -- with mixed reviews).
Would I be better off visiting a b&m store like Office Despot?
Thx -- :hi:

Had no problems with the purchase, delivery, or performance with any of them.
Given the uniqueness of battery designs to accommodate the uniqueness of laptop designs, chances of finding the specific battery in a store would be slim, IMHO. I've never understood why batteries couldn't be standardized on, or at least have a list of 1/2 dozen basic designs to design computers around. I guess this is an OEM profit center, but could you imagine if you had to buy a battery only designed to work with one specific car model? I would think that battery OEMs pass on huge cost penalties to the OEM/end user because they can't leverage manufacturing efficiencies with battery designs constantly changing to accommodate the latest laptop model redesigns.
