It seems Moodle 2.0 has a lot of features that organizations and even businesses can use. It's evolved beyond the school environment.
But I can't grasp exactly how one gets started. I know Moodle itself is open source, but the partners mentioned on the site for hosting and such are REALLY, REALLY expensive. :( I'm wondering how much knowledge is required to install and get it going, as well as maintain, let alone integrate with an existing site for login.

Websearch suggests colleges using it offer 5-8 hr trainings to get people up to speed on it for use
