MP3 player?

So, I don't want to get an Apple/iPod.

Looking at others: Sony Walkman, Sandisk Sansa, Creative, Philips? (16 GB) Don't need video.

any experience or opinions on these others?

1. I have had one of these for a couple of years

and it was inexpensive, small and sounded just fine...

3. Get an iPod Touch

I finally broke down and bought a touch. Amazing device very intuitive interface. Excellent battery life. It has wifi and can stream radio and other audio feeds very well. Get the largest capacity you can afford. You won't regret it.
This from a guy who has never had an apple computer, has owned 8 or so mp3 players by various companies and I research what I buy carefully. Get a good case and a good pair of ear buds too.
