Does anyone else's dog do this?

Whenever my dog goes outside and pees, or potties, she comes inside and goes BALLISTIC. She runs all over the house, back and forth, leaping over things, smiling and panting hard and just soooo excited. It's adorable and funny. I just wonder why she celebrates taking a dump so... heartily. Anyone else's aminals do that? :P

2. My male dog Murphy does that

He's an Australian Cattle Dog mix and just full of joy all the time anyway. He turned 2 years old this month and has been doing that same behavior all his short life. Cute, isn't it?

after they've done it, and tell me about it. Then I'm supposed to make a fuss when they are that proud of themselves.

11. I've done animal communication work for years, and with my dogs, it is

a combination of the fact that they are proud of themselves for doing the deed, and in the right place, and they know that will make YOU happy, and that they just plain feel so good when it's out. Personally, I've not had that sense of pride regarding my own accomplishments of this nature, but often a sense of happiness. :)

7. I have a Boxer that does that. Gads it's funny.

I have two Boxer's but it's only my boy 'Baron' that goes all goofy after he poops. Zoom Zoom Zoom around the trees like he's barrel racing then comes the funny part. He starts pronking like an gazelle, jumping straight up in the air with all fours, boing boing boing as if he had springs on the bottom of his feet. Then he suddenly *STOPS* *BOWS* (butt up) *SPINS* round`n`round this way *STOPS* then *SPINS* round`n`around the other way, then zoom does the whole goofy scene all over again. Then he prances into the house ever so proud of himself.

17. My Gosh that never even occurred to me

I'll have to start asking friends if they have a digi camcorder or maybe we'll just hafta go buy one. He does some pretty funny things in the house too. He's a Boxer that loves cardboard boxes. We take his ball or his frisbee and put it in a box, in a box, in a box, (I think I've used 4 boxes max. before) and it doesn't take him long to get his prize, but gads it's funny to watch him use his front feet to pounce on and smack those boxes around.

18. He's quite a character! I'll have to try the box trick with my pack, and

see if they respond. We don't "play" enough. I need to do something about that. Since your guy is so consistent in his antics, it shouldn't be too hard to get that on film. You would need to do a little explanation of whay he is celebrating, either on film or in a letter with the video. I don't know if the tape of the act which causes it would be as easy to get, but you could include it, maybe shot in one long take so they can see you are not making it up. They get hyper about authenticity, since so many people fake "accidetal" occurrences. They could always edit that out and do a voiceover explanation. I think they said they receive about 1500 tapes a week.

20. Consistent, ha ha that's an understatement

Baron insists and demands his playtime several times each day. If I'm not feeling well enough to play on a particular day he really gets severely depressed and sulks. He's so emotionally sensitive.

He's high maintenance in that regard. Gets me off my butt though :-)

19. Oh yeah. They don't care it it's a traditional camcorder. I just thought

digital, so you could post it online easily. Future debut on Ebaums World. No money, but fame. You wouldn't want to submit the same thing to them that you would send to AFV, or they probably wouldn't use it. All the "new" would be worn off.

Seriously though, from the day I got him from the shelter, I rewarded him with a treat for going outside and doing his bidness. Now it's quite the happy occasion followed by insane racing through the house and lunatic barking...he has the same behavior when it's time for a brushing or a walk. If only us lowly humans could experience such joy at such mundane tasks...

We notice it more in cooler weather. It is the funniest thing to watch him sprint from room to room, over and under the furniture. when he tires himself out, he jumps up on the couch and lies belly up to cool off.

See if that's what it is. My Sara, who is always excitable, will sometimes just act like a crazed agility dog when she comes in. She'll race around the house at full tilt, under things, over things, smacking into things, sliding around corners! Sometimes she'll pause, crouched down, but if you say anything, she'll start right up again! She has trampled her 9-lb. sibling, if I don't get him out of the way in time! I always thought that it was the fresh air and the excitement of being outside and just the chance to run around. Maybe she just pooped, LOL!:D

22. Every single time.

She runs laps around the entire house. She runs to the front room, bounces off the couch (sort of running up the back of the couch like Fred Astaire dancing up a wall), circles the dining room table, through the kitchen an family room, back to the bedroom, using the bed as a spring board, and starts over again. Usually it's five or six laps, panting hard, and then she collapses. She's not that big of a dog (about 50 pounds), but she slides the mattress halfway off the bed and hits the hide-a-bed sofa hard enough to lift it off the floor.

We call it the empty dog dance.
