| Who wants a border collie? |
|
Anyone? :D
I'm looking for advice in finding him a good home. He's about 9 months, perfect little dog, but growing up with the huskies isn't working out for him. We've been "holding" him for someone who's turned out to be a real flake, six months later. :eyes:
I'm going to interview people, of course, and I've got a handle on the basics of what I want them to be like. But as this is my first border colllie, I was hoping you all could help me describe the perfect owner for the breed. :)

and sign up with a rescue or breed group. Believe me, these people are all very knowledgeable. I am a member of at least 50 groups.

I have done dog rescue for several years. Many of the rescue groups use Yahoogroups to communicate. I did a search for border collie rescue and came up with at least 40 groups. Someone there should be able to help you find a good home for this dog.

| 2. Oh, I'm sorry! These are wonderful dogs, so incredibly smart! |

One thing that I do know about this breed is that they need to be working, to be kept busy. They are incredibly good for something like agility training. This is not a dog for someone with a small apartment, someone elderly or a shut-in, someone who's not home much or wants a lap dog. They need to be busy and active and challenged. They're not for everyone, obviously, but such exceptional dogs. :yourock:
I happen to know that David Letterman just loves and admires them, and he happens to be without a dog, at the moment.
Let us know how this turns out.:-)
