I received this today through one of my animal rescue groups. Just thought I would share.

WHAT IS A PET?

What is a pet?
Now let me see
What are the things a pet can be?

Is it just an animal
That shares your home,
Sits in a cage, chews on a bone?

No I think not,
This cannot be right
A pet is a friend who stays up with you all night.

A pet does not care
If you are pretty or plain
He does not even care if you have the right name.

A pet is there when you cry
Loves you even when you are vain,
A pet always kisses away your pain.

A pet is a best friend
Best one you will ever find
No human could ever be as kind.
