My Ayja lost his fight with CRF tonight.
He was a pure bred Siamese that was rejected because he had an umbilical hernia. A woman bought him for her daughter but the daughter ended up allergic to cats. That women gave him to us because she liked hearing about our cats and felt he would have a good home here. So this little 2 pound kitten rode in a tractor trailer for a week with my DH to get here. Once here he immediately decided he was mine. He would crawl between us and use his magic cat powers to make himself weigh enough to push my husband away from me in bed. Then he would set his back against mine and use all four feet to try to push the hubby out of bed, every single night. Once he felt the hubby was far enough away he would curl up against me and just purr, loudly. When I ask him "what?" he always answered with a certain meow and has taught every other cat in the house to answer the question too. We fought hard for the last year since he was diagnosed with feline chronic renal failure and it was hard to keep him out of the ferret food. He purred when he was given his sub q fluids and never fought getting his pills shoved down his throat and he still purred if I just looked at him. Tonight he lay on my lap purring as I pet him, way to skinny even for a Siamese until his heart just stopped. I'm going to miss his laying on or next to me all night purring. He was 14 years 3 months and 9 days old and way too young to die. Sleep well little guy, see you again one day.

2. He was beautiful. As are all cats. And there are so many more
out there that need a home.
14 years is a good long time, and there is no better way to go than in the arms of a loved one.
We all live, and we all die. But to live and die peacefully is the best way.

5. My deepest condolences to you and your family...
Thanks for the wonderful photos of your Ayja - what a beautiful cat he was. I'm dealing with CRF issues myself with my last kitty out of the six I had, so I understand exactly what you were dealing with. He lived a good, long life and you gave him all of the love and care that he deserved. Peace to you and your family in the coming days and weeks as you mourn your loss.

6. You poor thing. He looks like he was the sweetest thing on the planet.
What a beautiful face. He was lucky you were there with him at the end, but it must have been so hard for you. My deepest condolences.

8. Thank you everyone. Dealing
much better today though still keep feel like I forgot something be it his pills, sub-q, etc. Never realized how much the day revolved around his meds. That will pass eventually. It has been a tough year with all my elder furkids. Lost all but 2 ferrets and now two kitty's. The upside is they have hung around long enough to be elderly furkids. The baby is 7 and she is a ferret. For those that don't know average life span of a ferret is 6.)

11. Was he a Lilac point?
Just that beautiful silvery-blue of his mask...and his personality and spirit just JUMP right out at you.
Glad for you that you could be holding him right up to the end...last thing he felt was petting and your love.
And you're right about him being too young...no matter how much time they can give us, they go too soon.

15. I shed a tear with you...
I had a lovely talkative female Siamese named misty - she crossed the bridge Sept. of 2001 and there is not
one day that goes by that i don't think of her.

My heart goes out to you.
