4. I am so very, very sorry that you have lost Knuckles.
He was such a handsome boy..

I totally understand what you are going thru....as you know.

Allow your self to mourn, and to remember...and continue to love and look for signs of his
being nearby.

5. I suspect he'll stick around...
as you'll read on your thread, he was truly a mama's boy.

6. That is exactly the kind of dog that Boen was.
Edited on Fri May-28-10 11:26 PM by BrklynLiberal
He literally never let me out of his sight.
That is part of why it is so difficult now..everytime I move, I have this momentary hesitation..waiting for him to get up and follow me. I cannot remember the last time I went to the bathroom alone..or laid in my bed with Boen at my side.

If I made a move, he was up and at my side..ready to follow me where ever I was going..
I always said he was the Mama's boy that my son never was....

I hope that both of us will find peace and soon be able to remember and smile at the memories, rather than cry.

7.  I am so sorry your boy is gone, He was a beautiful dog and
I know he was grateful to be in your care. It's amazing how tightly they can wrap their furry selves around our hearts. I know that our pets are guardian angels in little fur suits. Rest in peace, Knuckles. You did a good job.

8. Thank you kindly.
This morning, when I got up and he wasn't sound asleep/pacing the living room (pacing was his manic behavior in his final year), I broke down. I think I've crossed the last terrible hurdle, and now I can grieve a little more "normally" (whatever that means). Let's just say I was supposed to ride for 2 hours this morning, but being on a bike crying is probably not a good idea :P

We'll get his ashes back and he'll be by my side wherever I go.

9. We were looking at your picture of Knuckles and thought how

we have seen that same face on Buddy (one of our dogs) in the snow.

We're sorry for your loss and will be thinking of both of you.

 What a gorgeous guy - looks like Knuckles was full of personality. I hope you will allow all the good memories you have of times with Knuckles to wash away the sadness of his loss. They do stay with us forever in our dreams.

13. he was...
but his favorite activity was putting his head on mama's lap (or laptop, as it were).
when he stopped craving that connection, well, i knew something was wrong. that was over a year ago.
thanks for your kind words

15. Their love for us is unconditional
That's why we grieve so much - often more than we ever expected - when they cross The Bridge.
